On episode 007 of the Wedding Safari Podcast, we had the pleasure of interviewing Brooklyn, New York’s premier Celebrity DJ - MikeMusic. Since the age of 8 years old, his inclination for music was undeniable. His parents supported and recognized this and thus his myriad of instruments from drumsets, to guitar, to keyboard to trumpet became a mainstay in his life.

Fast forward to 9 years later at the age of 17 Mike Music was officially born. “Knighted” MickMusic by his counterparts, from the very beginning his style was different.


The story behind his moniker is as unique as his varied musical tastes. He toured with a merengue band as a trumpet player. In the Latin music industry, many musicians are known by their first name followed by their instrument. However, he often filled in for other band members as a keyboardist, bassist and Latin percussionist. He was soon dubbed by one of his band mates as “MikeMusic” because he “could play everything.” The name endured and is now synonymous with his talent to deejay a multitude of genres.


Offering unforgettable experiences by taking party goers through a culmination genres, his style was different, yet undeniable.  Recognizing that his instrument is the music, not the speakers, equipment and turntables, changed his perspective on the industry as a whole.


While continuing his pursuit of deejaying, MikeMusic attended some of the most prestigious institutes for musical training in New York City, including Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts. And under the tutelage of professional musician Dr. Aaron Flagg, he was able to further surpass his natural talent on the trumpet as a student at The Julliard School.


Set out to change the perception of what a real DJ is, MikeMusic will discuss branding, defining your niche’, the importance of networking, lessons learned, the business side of the DJ industry and paving your own lane.


As a purveyor of eclectic beats and soul tapping sounds, he instinctively knows the perfect soundtrack for any celebration.
